Each student has been allocated to a House and entire families have and will be in the future placed in the same House, helping to create a tradition. There are eleven Tutor Groups in each House and each group has a range of students from each year group. The student will remain in that Tutor Group and with that Tutor teacher throughout the time he is at the school.
The Tutor Groups meet each morning for 15 minutes. This meeting has a dual administration and pastoral care focus. The Tutor Group also meets three afternoons per week for Sustained Reading. There are regular House Assemblies.
The objective of the House System is to improve the school tone and raise the overall performance of individual students by :
- Improving school spirit through House competitions
- Enhancing tradition and History
- Providing students with wider Leadership and Mentoring opportunities
- Giving students a sense of belonging
- Creating a stronger sense of responsibility
Students can be rewarded for achievement in a variety of activities and gain points for their House.
Students can earn House points for participation and success in sporting and cultural activities as well as reward for classroom excellence.
