THEORY COMPONENT

16 Level 1-3 NZQA Unit Standard Credits

All players in the Hockey Institute are expected to play for a school team.

The school supplies:

• World class golf club
• Clubs
• Balls
• Coach
• Coaching equipment
• All-weather fl oodlit artifi cial turf
• Changing facilities
• Team uniforms for games
• Tracksuits
• Transport

Players must supply:

• Sports gear for practices 

• Previous golfing experience is not necessary but preference may be given to club players.
• Selection for the Golf Academy is based on the individual player’s all-round ability and attitude toward sport.
• Players initially selected for the Golf Academy will be involved in a month trial to see if they have the potential to succeed in the sport.
• To maintain a position in the Golf Academy, players must have a good record of attendance and behaviour around school.
• Commitment to fair play and the programme.
• Consistent breaches of school rules will lead to exclusion from the Academy
