To create a pathway for talented young rugby players aspiring to become professionals.

To provide opportunities for students to fulfill their potential.

To have the best rugby programme in New Zealand secondary schools.

1. To nurture a lifelong love of the sport of Rugby. 
2. To develop players to the top representative standard.
3. To develop personal skills to the highest level of personal performance, both on and of the field.
4. To create an understanding of the theory of the sport.
5. To increase personal fitness.
6. To encourage players to join a Rugby Club.
7. To teach students to work in a team environment.

Selection for the Rugby Academy is based on the individual player’s ability and attitude.

Players must be experienced and preference will be given to those players who are currently playing at representative level.

The next level of selection will be those players who are members of a club and who play on a regular basis.

Other players who do not fi ll the above criteria may take part in trials to see if they have the potential to succeed in the sport.

To maintain a position in the Academy, players must have a good record of attendance and behaviour around school.

Consistent breaches of school rules will lead to exclusion from the Academy
