 Competitive Swimming and Education Opportunity Minimize 

WATERHOLE SWIMMING CENTRE:

Offers top level coaching from a very experienced coaching staff, a well organised and administered swimming club in Auckland, which is the top city for swimming in New Zealand. This gives the opportunity for top class competition all year round.

The Waterhole programmes have been developed by Judith Wright. Judith, an elite coach, has over 30 years experience in swimming as a New Zealand

JOINT PROGRAMME BETWEEN KELSTON BOYS AND WATERHOLE SWIMMING CENTRE:

This programme offers the opportunity for student to take part in their chosen sport of swimming and further their academic studies in Auckland, New Zealand.

This joint venture will provide the highest standard both for the student’s education and swimming training.

8 to 10 training sessions per week in the water

Dry land training

Fitness testing

Individual skills assessments

Goal setting and time management planning

An understanding of the theory of swimming

 Waterhope Swimming Club Minimize 

BACKGROUND:

Waterhole is one of the biggest clubs in Auckland.

Over the years Waterhole has had many New Zealand Age Group and Open Level Champions, Auckland and New Zealand record holders, and also New Zealand representatives.

 Criteria for Selection Minimize 

 

  1. Each student is required to meet the standards set by the Kelston Boys High School Sports Academy
  2. To maintain a position in the Swimming Institute, students must have a good record of attendance and behaviour around school.
  3. Consistent breaches of school rules will lead to exclusion from the Institute.
  4. Each student 13 years and under will be assessed by the Director of Coaching – Waterhole Swimming Centre.
  5. Each student 14 years and over is required to have achieved a qualifying time based on New Zealand Age Groups Championship and this will need to be verifi ed by the student’s Swimming Association. Qualifying times are listed on the Swimming New Zealand website – www.swimmingnz.org.nz
