‘A Brotherhood Building Better Boys’
Kelston Boys High Schools sporting success can be attributed to the dedication of a large number of very competent and highly motivated staff, volunteers, parents and the strong values culture and pride that continues within Kelston Boys & our wider community. Our Old Boys network also plays a significant part in maintaining our sporting excellence and the Kelston sporting alumni includes some of New Zealand’s top sportsmen and respected leaders.
The Kelstonian brotherhood is about Excellence, Resilience, Respect & Family working together to support our sport vision.
We offer a wide range of sport & co-curricular opportunities and encourage every student to pursue their sporting ambitions, to seek continuous improvement and enjoy the passion and life-long love of sport and well-being.
Kelston has two full sized indoor gymnasiums, weights room, six astroturf tennis courts, large area sports fields for rugby, league, football, cricket, softball and sports pavilion.
Sport coaching & management staff provide added value to students above and beyond their sport job description and role. This approach aligns to the Kelston Way of meeting student needs or in sport terms being ‘athlete centred’. All coaching staff and sport volunteers aim to;
- Provide a safe, fun, positive and inclusive environment for all students
- Be professional, organised and seek continuous improvement
- Adhere to all Codes of Conduct, H&S, school values, policies and standards
Being involved in a sport enables boys to enjoy school life to its full and make memorable connections that enrich student achievement both out & inside the classroom.
