Our school counsellor is here to support the wellbeing of all students. Counselling provides a safe, confidential space where students can talk about their feelings, challenges, or worries. Support may include managing friendships, coping with stress or loss, improving learning confidence, or simply having someone to listen.

Conversations with the counsellor are treated with respect and kept private, with clear guidelines in place to ensure student safety and wellbeing. Our counsellors are guided by the New Zealand Association of Counsellors Code of Ethics and work within a framework that is client-centred, safe, and ethical.

The counsellor works alongside teachers, whānau, and external services when needed, to ensure every student feels valued and supported. Students are welcome to self-refer at the Hauora Centre, or parents and teachers can make a referral on their behalf.

Our goal is to promote Hauora, so that every student has the best opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
