Nau mai, Haere mai Term 3

Term 3 begins on Monday, 26 July and we will start the term with a whole school assembly at 9 am. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new staff and students to the school this term. This term, we have Mr Pollock, Ms Ledua and Mr Nicholl joining us at Kelston Boys’ High School.

Timetable changes

Due to staffing changes and promotions over the two-week holiday, to reduce class numbers in some classes, there will be changes in teachers for the following classes from Term 3. Although these changes are not ideal, they have been made with students in mind and to ensure learning is not disrupted. All students will be provided with new timetables on Monday morning.

These student-led conferences will be held on Wednesday, 28 July and Thursday, 29 July from 3 pm to 7 pm both nights. Thank you to whanau who have already made appointments to come in to meet with your son’s whānau teacher. These sessions are important as they allow the school to connect with whānau on developing a plan with the student on their achievement journey at school. Please contact office@kbhs.school.nz if you would like some assistance in getting an appointment or visit this link.

Standards to uphold

Each new term, we remind our students of the standard of dress and behaviour that is expected of them. Please support the school by ensuring that your sons are dressed in full, correct uniform, are clean-shaven and do not have any rats-tails. Punctuality and attendance at school are two important aspects of achieving in class. If your son is going to be away from school, please inform the school in advance.

Term 3 is going to be another busy term with academic studies and sporting competitions. It is important that we encourage our students to be resilient and strive for excellence. Have a good weekend and I look forward to having the boys back at school.
