Kia Ora Whanau

Kelston Boys’ High School is working to communicate with our community to keep whānau informed of their son’s progress at school, especially within the classroom. The results are accessible via the Parent Portal.  https://kconnect.kbhs.school.nz/

The Parent Portal is a very powerful tool to keep everyone updated on students' attendance and academic progress throughout the day, week or year. We are encouraging our caregivers to use this tool to support communication with the school to ensure students remain on target to achieve their academic potential.

The Parent Portal will have a Class Effort graph showing how the student is going in their subjects over a period of time. (click link below for example)

Teachers will continue trialling this process throughout the rest of 2019 for Juniors and formalise the structure throughout 2020 for the full school. The trial will allow parents and teaching staff to work through the nuts and bolts to improve information and support from Whanau, Teachers and students on enhancing learning and effort progress in the classroom.
